(EN) GP2 Series 2015 – Round 4 Preview

After a month break, GP2 will return this week with round 4 in Red Bull Ring, Spielberg, Austria.

The 4,326 km circuit provides some challenge to all drivers because this circuit located at hill, so lots of ups and downs on this circuit. Sequential straight also give drivers advatage to overtaking.

-WARM UP-

Mitch Evans (New Zealand/RUSSIAN TIME)

“I really enjoy this track. It’s very short and it reminds me of the tracks I am used to from New Zealand.  Normally qualifying is very tight. There’s not much run off so there’s not much room for error which I like. You don’t really see on TV how much of a climb up there is from turn 1 to turn 2. The second to last corner is very interesting and very challenging. It’s probably the fastest corner of the track. Then the last corner has got a big drop in the middle by the apex which is quite different.

“Last year, it was possible to overtake into turns 1, 2 and 3. You can definitely make some moves there.  The tyre degradation is quite low. The track is smooth and it’s not overly-demanding on the tyres. It’s quite easy to keep the tyres in good conditions. I’m looking forward to it after a bad few races and hopefully we can be strong.”
